More Than Masks
While the industry scrambles to produce, locate and distribute PPE, some of our distributor partners are thinking outside of the box by adding a philanthropic element on top of combatting the ever-growing need for health and safety equipment. Now more than ever, the generosity and forward-thinking of companies serves as a reminder that we are all in this together.
The Identity Source, based in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is operating a site through Inksoft dedicated solely to the PPE they're selling. The site, PPE4Good, houses a variety of products for sale including masks, face shields, hand sanitizer and thermometers that they are sourcing from reliable and reputable manufacturers. The user-friendly site is not only a hub for PPE, it is also the source of a give back initiative benefitting workers on the front line. The Identity Source is absorbing all freight charges on orders through this site and 100% of the proceeds are going directly to healthcare non-profits to support first responders.
Full Line Specialties in Surrey, British Columbia is involving their community - at a distance - to promote health and safety. By starting to manufacture cloth masks, Full Line is able to provide work for employees in the departments involved in the cloth mask project. Wanting to expand their efforts beyond the office, they developed an initiative that helps the local community in more ways than one. In exchange for one of the Full Line branded cloth masks they are producing, people in the area can drop off two non-perishable food items that will then be donated to Food Banks Canada. This project has enabled the community to donate extra food to those who need it the most and provides the community with hard-to-find PPE for themselves.
The Identity Source and Full Line Specialties have both created opportunities for themselves during this crisis that put others first. Have you or has someone you know found clever ways to help others from a distance? We hope you will be inspired to share your stories of innovation and giving back during this challenging time.
