SanMar has gone above and beyond to lend a helping hand during the COVID-19 pandemic that has disrupted our lives and our industry. Along with other major textile and apparel companies that have the capability, SanMar has switched up their standard production to start making much-needed PPE to distribute throughout the United States and Central America. Over the last couple of weeks, they have been diligently producing face coverings for essential workers on the front line in an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Just last week, the first pallets packed with boxes of cloth face coverings were shipped out from distribution centers in Tennessee and Honduras. The coalition of companies responding to the PPE shortage is projected to produce and distribute millions of face coverings throughout the duration of the COVID-19 outbreak.
In the wake of the chaos caused by businesses having to switch to remote operations virtually overnight, SanMar has also created an online resource hub with a little something for everyone. The variety of resources and best practices housed in the virtual toolkit range from essential COVID-19 updates from SanMar, to helpful online presentation and communication tips to facilitate an easier transition. Some other supportive materials found in the toolkit include advice for working from home, ways to take advantage of social media and a multitude of selling tools for this challenging environment. If you're interested in joining others in making masks, SanMar also has a section dedicated for individuals to sign up and receive information about volunteering their skills and time to face covering production efforts.
